I can kind of see how this can be a very useful tool in the future. It could have a database of everyone in the entire world and you can find a lot about that person. Since this tool is still in BETA, which means its still new so they will be a lot more features added to it in the future. At the moment they just want to have all the basic functionality to have their website up and running.
Potential of the Tool
Lets say for example, that I want to know what a girl in my work place likes and dislikes. Lets also say that spock is perfect, which means it will have information of that girl in their database. All I do, is do a search for her name, location, profession, etc to narrow down the results to find her because there will definitely be more than one person with the same name. So if spock is perfect, I can find out all about her such as things like how many siblings she has, what are their names, how they look like, etc.
The main page is very plain with just the search engine and some links. That is a good thing because like Google, everyone that goes to www.google.com has a purpose and that is do a search. They don't want to see anything else unless its something they are looking for.
They also give allow you to put your search results with pictures on your webpage after you did a search. For me, I did a search for myself, but I couldn't find me. Below is a widget I got from their website and it shows pictures of people who are name "Michael Chu", which is also my name, but you won't find me. Maybe in the future, you might be able to since its still under testing.
If you do a search on popular people like celebrities and politicians, the chance of find them is pretty high, but if you are looking for your best friend with the name, "Tom John" your chances are pretty slim.
